I was at Kimpo AFB with the 11th TAC from 1953 to 1954, eleven months in all. I came straight out of survival school and arrived in Korea. That helped, what with all the time living in a tent. While I was at Kimpo, I was chief navigator for the squadron.

We flew two or three times a week, if you count the flights bringing the planes over to Miho, in Japan, for retrofitting and repair. The crew would be a single pilot, the navigator, and then either one or two additional people, depending on whether it was a weather flight, training, or one of the electronic intelligence missions.
