When the 11th Squadron was reactivated for operations in Korea, it combined the Electronics Intelligence missions of the 12th with the Weather Recon functions of the 6166th. Lt. Van Hare, a Navigator with the squadron and a Pratt Institute art school graduate, designed the new squadron badge.
